Celebrate autumn in the Leduc Region with these local events

Autumn is in the air in the Leduc Region! To help prove that summer’s end doesn’t mean the fun is over, we’ve assembled a list of upcoming events for you to check out. A fall festival, a charity walk/run, and a celebration of the arts – they’re all happening in the coming weeks. Check out the Events Page for a complete listing of local happenings.

Fall is in the air in the Leduc Region!
The Nowhere to Run Run – Virtual Event
Friday, October 2, 2020 from 6-8 PM

You can join this Zoom event from the comfort of your home – participate by walking or running in your community, or even on your treadmill! The 2020 Nowhere to Run Run (a virtual event this year) is on October 2 from 6-8 PM. Choose between a 1km family walk/run, a 5km walk/run, or a 10km run – whatever works best for you! Afterwards, join the conversation with keynote speaker Anastasia Bucsis (2x Canadian Olympic Speed Skater & Mental Health Advocate) at 7:30 PM. Registration for this event is by donation, with proceeds going to support mental health & community trail initiatives in the Town of Calmar.

Block 50 Fall Festival – Leduc
Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 11 AM – 4 PM

We are excited to be a part of the Block 50 Fall Festival taking place on October 3 from 11 AM – 4 PM! Make your way over to the Block 50 parking lot on Main Street Leduc for an afternoon of fall festivities, including:
> Vendors & Homemade Items (from your favorite local shops like Jar’d Mercantile, Under the Sun, More Fun Gourmet Sweets, Prairie Microgreens, & much more)
> Locally Grown Produce (from the Holden Hutterite Colony)
> Giveaways & Kids Activities (including a hay bale maze)
> A Beer Patio (hosted by Rural Routes Brewing Company)

***Masks are encouraged, but not mandatory at this time (unless requested when inside individual stores). Please make sure to abide by all signs & physical distancing measures.

Block 50 Fall Festival
Leduc Arts Foundry Grand Opening Open House – Leduc
Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 11 AM – 4 PM

The Leduc Arts Foundry has a new home in the Leduc Recreation Center! To celebrate their grand opening, you’re invited to an open house on Saturday, October 3 from 11 AM – 4 PM. Activities planned include live demos, clay for kids, puppet demos, oil painting, acrylics fabric work, and much more. We’re looking forward to celebrating this major milestone for the Leduc Region arts community, and hope to see you there!

***Please bring a mask to wear, and note that the Leduc Arts Foundry will be collecting gently used art supplies for their community drop-in programs.

Fall in love with glass art at Under the Sun
Live Music at Blackjacks – Nisku
October 3, 17, 24, 31 from 6-8 PM

We are thrilled to announce that live music is returning to Blackjacks Roadhouse! Experience an evening full of entertainment on the above dates while enjoying the musical talents of groups like Campfire Heroes and Ryan Lindsay. Even better, your participation will help support local non-profit & charity organizations like the Leduc & District Food BankE2 Academy, and Riseup Society Alberta! Doors open at 6 PM each night, with shows starting at 8 PM.
