Leduc Arts Foundry, City of Leduc

Leduc Arts Foundry

Bringing together local artists since 2020, the Leduc Arts Foundry’s home is in the Leduc Recreation Center  and they recently acquired a new location on Main Street in Leduc with new, exciting plans. With the help of passionate community-based artisans, the Arts Foundry offers a wide variety of classes and workshops to people of all ages and skill levels. Delivering authentic artistic experiences is their mission, and they do this by putting on annual events like the Leduc Art Walk – a 100% free, family-friendly celebration of local artists and creative activities!

Did you know? The Leduc Arts Foundry hosts classes and workshops on a weekly basis at their space in the Leduc Recreation Centre! Every Tuesday they have free community drop-in days (9:00 AM-4:00 PM), a free youth drop-in program in the evening (4:00-7:00 PM), and open mic nights(7:00-9:00 PM) Check out their calendar of events to learn when the next one is, and swing by next time you need to express your creative side!

The Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts, City of Leduc

Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts

The Maclab Centre is a 460-seat theatre that residents from all over the Leduc Region are proud of. Hosting a wide variety of events like concerts, ceremonies, and theatrical performances, local artists and organizations like the Leduc Drama Society are proud to call the Maclab home.

Zyp Art Gallery, Town of Calmar

Zyp Art Gallery

Found on the second floor of the beautiful Calmar Medical Clinic, Zyp Art Gallery opened its doors in May of 2018. Since then, they have been making waves in the Leduc Region’s arts community by showcasing the works of local artists in public and online exhibits and inspiring arts education through events, workshops, and programs. The Zyp Art Gallery is an art space governed by the Calmar Art Society and registered under the Alberta Societies Act.

Did you know? The Zyp Art Gallery is named in honour of local philanthropists Hank and Tillie Zyp! Calmar resident Dr. Nhung Tran-Davies was sponsored by the Zyp family from a refugee camp after the Vietnam War and built the gallery in honour of the impact the Zyp’s had on her life. Leduc West Antique Society, Leduc County

Leduc West Antique Society

A group of locals came together to form the Leduc West Antique Society (LWAS). Their purpose was to collect, restore, maintain, and display historic buildings, vehicles, antiques, and other items used by the pioneers who settled this area in the late 1800s and throughout the 20th century. Located on 80 acres of land west of Leduc, LWAS organizes public events, school tours, and private tours upon request, featuring highlights like the May Tractor Pull, the Country Swap Meet, July’s Annual Exposition, and the September Country Harvest.

Did you know? Visitors are invited to tour the historic buildings and check out the various displays and demonstrations.

Leduc Art Club

Also located in the Leduc Recreation Centre inside the Leduc Arts Foundry home, the Leduc Art Club provides opportunities for residents and visitors alike to keep art alive in the Leduc Region. By hosting classes, workshops, and art shows, they encourage an appreciation for the visual arts both within their group and the wider community.

Did you know? The Leduc Art Club hosts the annual aspiring young artist competition, with a variety of schools participating, including Leduc Composite High School (LCHS), New Sarepta Community High School (NSCHS), Ecole Secondaire Beaumont Composite High School (ESBCHS) and Black Gold Outreach School (BGOS).
