2020 may have been difficult, but we’re grateful to have had A LOT of positive moments over the past year. As we reflect back on the last 365 days, we want to share some of our biggest accomplishments from our first year with you!

We launched discoverleduc.ca!

It’s hard to believe this website is not even a year old yet! We launched discoverleduc.ca on June 9, 2020 with the help of our founding partners – The City of Leduc and Leduc County. Since then, we’ve grown, evolved, and expanded as we discover new ways to showcase what makes the Leduc Region special! Some exciting features we’ve added to the website since our launch include:
> An Interactive Map of the Leduc Region to help you plan out your next adventure
> An Events Page to inform of you upcoming local happenings
> Weekly Blog Posts to help you discover everything going on in the region
> An expanded Things to Do section with new categories like Specialty Shopping
> An Industry Hub with resources for local businesses & tourism partners

Devon & Calmar joined Discover Leduc Region!

On August 14, 2020 our Discover Leduc Region family grew! We welcomed two new partners, the Town of Calmar and the Town of Devon, to better showcase just how unique & diverse the Leduc Region is. With the addition of these two municipalities, Discover Leduc Region now spans across 4 communities and over 2,600 square km!

@discoverleduc joined Twitter!

We officially sent out our first tweet on June 22, 2020! With Twitter, we are now active across 3 different social media platforms (including Facebook & Instagram), and are helping new people Discover Leduc Region in 280 characters or less!

We hit 2,500 fans + followers!

It was 2020’s last surprise… we hit 2500 fans + followers (across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) on December 30! The vibrant sense of community that resonates throughout the Leduc Region is the inspiration behind everything we do; thank you so much for supporting and engaging with our social media accounts over the past year!

We shared how YOU Discover Leduc Region!

Last, but certainly not least on our list of milestones, is the decision to focus on how YOU discover the Leduc Region! We realized the best way to showcase what makes our communities special is by sharing YOUR stories and the way YOU see it. The majority of what we promote is created from the photos and stories of residents & visitors alike, because nobody knows the Leduc Region better than the people who experience it for themselves.

Looking forward at 2021…

As we put 2020 behind us, we have a lot to look forward to moving into the New Year! It is an opportunity for new beginnings, and some exciting projects we have on the go include:
> Expanding our Agri-Tourism section and our Interactive Map as part of the Local Foods Initiative with Leduc County.
> MORE professional development and educational events on a variety of timely topics for our local tourism industry businesses like this one on January 22.
