How the Leduc Region is responding

Campgrounds

Jubilee Park Campground and Centennial Park Campground are open as of June 5, 2020. Only those with self-contained trailers will be able to make reservations this season. Showers and public washroom facilities will not be available. Users must follow public health orders, including practicing physical distancing and limiting group sizes.

Day Use & Parks

Genesee Heritage Park, New Sarepta community parks, Sunnybrook community park, Mission Beach community park, and the park space and trails at the Nisku Recreation Centre are open. Users must follow public health orders, including practicing physical distancing and limiting group sizes.

The day-use areas at Jubilee Park Campground and Centennial Park Campground â€“ including playgrounds and public washroom facilities – are closed for the season. The beach at Jubilee Park day-use area is also closed. The parking lot will remain open so users can access the boat launch. Leduc County playgrounds remain closed.

Genesee Park Group Campground and Sunnybrook Creek Park Group Campground are closed for the 2020 camping season to follow public health orders for practicing physical distancing and limiting group sizes.

Permitted outdoor activities in Leduc now include:

  • Athletic fields/ball diamonds (casual use only)
  • Community gardens
  • Dog parks
  • Garden centres and nurseries
  • Golf courses
  • Multiway trail system
  • Parks/greenspaces (casual use only)
  • Telford Lake (casual use only)
  • Tennis courts
  • Basketball courts

Boat Launches

The boat launches at Wizard Lake (Jubilee Park) and Pigeon Lake (Gilwood Beach) will remain open, and parking lots will remain open so users can access the boat launch. Public washroom facilities will not be available. Users must follow public health orders, including practicing physical distancing and limiting group sizes.

Playgrounds

All playgrounds within Leduc County are closed until further notice. This closure affects the following playgrounds:

  • Sunnybrook playground
  • New Sarepta playground
  • Green Acres playground
  • Mission Beach playground
