Experience our favorite local spots on Main Street Leduc
Whether you’re a foodie, shopping lover, or a history buff, Downtown Leduc has something for you. Bringing together some of the most unique offerings in the Leduc Region within walking distance of one another, Main Street Leduc is the heart of the local business community. Keep reading to learn more about some of our favorite spots, and how we would plan out a 1-day local getaway to Downtown Leduc.
Morning adventures on Main Street Leduc
Start your day off right with a stop for breakfast at Prestigio Bakery. Offering a wide range of delicious, freshly baked, European-style breads and pastries, you’ll leave the bakery feeling refreshed and fueled up for the busy day ahead. Armed with a coffee and muffin in hand, head east down 50th Ave for some retail therapy. As you explore the heart of Downtown Leduc, keep an eye out for some of our favorite spots for specialty shopping:
- Under the Sun – Find a beautiful handmade gift for yourself or a loved one at this one-of-a-kind stained glass studio. Better yet, experience the art of glass for yourself by booking a studio tour and getting a behind-the-scenes look at how glass is made.
- The Turner Guitar Studio Ltd. – No trip to Main Street Leduc is complete without a stop here. Featuring the largest selection of acoustic and classical guitars in the Edmonton Region, musical afficionados and beginners alike will be welcome with open arms here.
- It’s a Crock Country Store – If there was an award for quaintest spot in Downtown Leduc, it would go to this store. Featuring a little bit of everything from living room furniture to kitchen and dining room décor, you’ll be sure to find the perfect piece for your own home here.
Afternoon activities in Downtown Leduc
After a busy morning, you’ll need a stop for lunch; we recommend the Leduc Coffee Shop. While you enjoy some homemade soup or a fresh sandwich, feel free to chat up and connect with some of the locals sure to be found at this popular spot. If nothing else, make sure to grab one of their signature cinnamon buns on your way out; they’re to die for. When you’re feeling refreshed and recharged, make your way over to one of Leduc’s trademark historic sites. Both the Leduc Heritage Grain Elevator and Dr. Wood’s House Museum are within walking distance, and a tour at either of these spots is a signature cultural experience unique to the Leduc Region. Be sure to book ahead of time though, because although both the museum and elevator are now open, they are only scheduling tours by appointment. Squeezing in something else before dinner might be a challenge, but if you can, we suggest some rest and relaxation at Aurora Yoga and Spa. This space is dedicated to the health and wellness of every individual that walks through their doors and will help you unwind after an activity-filled day.
Evening experiences on Main Street Leduc
After such a busy day, you’ll be more than ready for dinner and drinks. Our go-to summer spot for this in Downtown Leduc would be Habaneros Mexican Grill. Offering authentic Mexican food interpreted for a Canadian audience, this is the perfect spot for an evening meal. Even better, you can enjoy the cool night air on Habanero’s patio while you feast on their signature tacos. It’s a well-known fact that margaritas taste better on a patio, right? For some scenic post-dinner views, head east across the train tracks to Telford Lake. Hopefully there’s still some charge left on your phone, because you’ll want to pull it out and snap a couple pics as the sun sets over the lake.
