We’ve got the scoop on ALL the Canada Day activities happening throughout the Leduc Region… and there’s a LOT going on!
A parade, fireworks, live music, community events, and even a midway – all this and more is taking place on July 1st! So don your red & white, and read on to learn about fun, creative and safe Canada Day festivities happening in our beautiful region!
***However you decide to celebrate this Canada Day, be sure to check and follow what the most recent Alberta Health Guidelines will be on July 1st.
Canada Day Activities in Leduc
DRIVE-THROUGH PANCAKE BREAKFAST & FLAG RAISING
When: 8:30 – 11:30 AM | 11:45 AM
Where: Leduc Legion
Start off Canada Day with a drive-through pancake breakfast at the Leduc Legion! Orders are $6.00 per plate and include pancakes, syrup, sausage, eggs and choice of coffee or juice. Stick around afterwards to watch the Canada Day flag raising ceremony, and take in some military vehicles & equipment on-site for public display. The flag raising will also be streamed on Facebook Live if you are unable to make it in-person.
CANADA DAY BOAT RENTALS
When: 12:00 – 4:00 PM
Where: Leduc Boat Club
Experience the beauty of nature on Canada Day! If you’re interested in spending some time with the family on Telford Lake, the Leduc Boat Club is offering special pricing from 12:00 – 4:00 PM… Rentals are only $10 for 45 minutes!
TRAVELLING OUTDOOR CONCERT SERIES
When: 1:00 – 5:00 PM
Where: Various Locations
Local folk-rock duo River Poets will be travelling throughout Leduc on July 1st for an outdoor concert series! Catch them at one of 5 different stops for a 20-25 minute show at each.
FREE TAKE-HOME HOT DOG & S’MORE KITS
When: 3:00 – 5:00 PM
Where: Gateway Church
Take your own Canada Day celebrations to the next level! The City of Leduc is offering FREE take-home hot dog & s’more kits for families available for pick-up at Gateway Church between 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Arrive early, 500 kits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis!
CANADA DAY AT BLOCK 50
When: 12:00 – 8:00 PM
Where: Block 50 Leduc
Be sure to make your way over to Block 50 Leduc on July 1st for a full day of festivities! A Kids Zone with activities hosted by Black Gold Rodeo, Lil Ryley Farms, and more will be set up from 12:00 – 5:00 PM. Veterans Victorious & Wicked Wood will also be on-site to join in the Canada Day fun. Food trucks including YEG Smokehouse BBQ, Poutine World, Auntie Jo’s Kettle Corn, and Dark Kiss Coffee will be offering eats & treats from 12:00 – 6:00 PM.
There will even be live music and a beer garden! Alternative rock band Basler will play from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, and refreshments from Rig Hand Distillery + Rural Routes Brewing Company will be available for purchase (in the designated area).
CANADA DAY FIREWORKS
When: 11:00 – 11:15 PM
Where: Telford Lake Garden Plots
Canada Day wouldn’t be Canada Day without a fireworks display, and the City of Leduc is bringing it this year! Enjoy a dazzling show scheduled from 11:00 – 11:15 PM visible anywhere within 3 km of the Telford Lake garden plots.
Canada Day Activities in Calmar
CANADA DAY IN ENGBERG PARK
When: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Where: Engberg Park
Make your way to Engberg Park (behind Mike Karbonik Arena) between 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM for some Canada Day fun! Attendees can get a free hot dog, beverage, and Canada Day cupcake. Be sure to stick around and take part in some family games including kids tractors (courtesy of the Calmar Ag Society), bean bag toss, and ladder golf.
WILD ROSE SHOWS MIDWAY
When: July 1st – 3rd, 2021
Where: Mike Karbonik Arena Parking Lot
Yes, you heard that right… Wild Rose Shows is bringing a midway to Calmar! Rides will be setting up shop in the Mike Karbonik Arena Parking Lot from July 1st – 3rd. More details to come – follow the Town of Calmar’s Facebook Page for updates!
Canada Day Activities in Devon
CANADA DAY ACTIVITY KITS

Where: From the comfort of your home!
The Town of Devon is bringing Canada Day fun straight to your home! Activity Kits are free for Devon residents, $5 per family for non-residents, and include:
> Ribbon wand craft
> Make your own mask
> Pinwheel craft
> Tree streamers & bubbles
> Mini Canada flags & temporary tattoos
> Printed Regional Activity Booklet
CANADA DAY PARADE
When: July 1st (Exact Time TBD)
Where: Devon, AB
The Town of Devon is proud to announce this year’s Canada Day Parade! The parade will be hitting as many streets as possible throughout Devon, and will feature a line-up including:

> RCMP, Devon Detachment
> Community Peace Officers
> Devon Fire Department
> Town of Devon Old Red
> Citizens on Patrol
> Music: Kym Simon & Martina Dawn
