Discover Devon Lions Campground

August 10, 2026.

Sometimes, getting away doesn’t mean driving for hours.

Tucked into the North Saskatchewan River Valley in Devon, just 15 minutes southwest of Edmonton, the Devon Lions Campground offers the kind of camping getaway that makes you feel much farther from home than you actually are. Surrounded by nature and close to the trails, attractions and small-town charm of Devon, it’s an easy place to slow down, gather around a campfire and make a weekend of it.

Whether you’re a local looking for a change of scenery, a family planning a summer camping trip, or a visitor exploring the Leduc Region, this riverside campground makes a great home base for discovering more of the area.

A Little Closer. A Lot More Getaway.

One of the best things about the Devon Lions Campground is its location.

You can leave the city behind without spending half the day getting there. Follow the road down into Devon’s river valley and suddenly the pace changes. The campground is nestled beside the North Saskatchewan River and adjacent to the Devon Golf & Conference Centre, surrounded by the natural landscape that makes Devon such a special place to explore.

For locals, that means an easy option for a quick weekend reset without the long drive.

For visitors, it’s a convenient base for exploring Devon, the surrounding Leduc Region and attractions just beyond.

And for campers who simply want a peaceful place to park the RV, pitch a tent and enjoy a campfire? Well, sometimes that’s all the itinerary you need.

Camping for Different Kinds of Campers

Whether you’re travelling with a trailer, RV or tent, the campground offers a variety of sites and services to make your stay comfortable.

Camping options include unserviced sites as well as sites with power and water, and full-service sites with power, water and sewer. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit—because no camping trip is complete without a little outdoor cooking and a campfire to wind down the day.

Campers also have access to two shower houses with washrooms, free showers, a coin-operated laundromat and a sani-dump. Firewood is available for purchase at the campground office, so you can arrive ready to relax rather than worrying about whether you packed absolutely everything.

For those who like a little more comfort than a tent can provide, there’s another option worth knowing about.

Not Quite a Camper? Try the Cabin.

The campground’s rental cabin offers a different way to experience the river valley. The cabin sleeps two to six people, is fully stocked, air conditioned and heated, and overlooks the North Saskatchewan River.

It’s a great option for anyone who loves the idea of waking up surrounded by nature but isn’t quite ready to embrace the air mattress.

Bring your food, settle in and let Devon do the rest.

The River Valley Is Right There

Devon’s location in the North Saskatchewan River Valley gives the area a distinctly different feel from the surrounding prairie landscape. The river valley is a natural playground for walking, cycling, exploring and simply taking a break from the everyday.

Devon is home to more than 24 km of trails along the North Saskatchewan River, connecting the community with the surrounding river valley.

That makes the campground a great starting point for a morning walk, an afternoon adventure or a leisurely day spent exploring Devon’s outdoor spaces.

Turn Camping Into a Weekend Adventure

One of the best reasons to stay at Devon Lions Campground is that you don’t have to spend the entire weekend at the campsite.

Make the campground your home base and explore what’s nearby.

Spend some time discovering Devon’s trails and parks, visit the Devon Golf & Conference Centre, explore local attractions or venture farther into the region. The campground’s own list of nearby attractions includes the University of Alberta Botanic Garden, Leduc #1 Energy Discovery Centre, River Lifestyle Co., RAD Torque Raceway Devon Historical Museum, and more.

You could even build a weekend around a few different experiences—outdoor adventure in the morning, a local attraction in the afternoon and a campfire back at your site in the evening.

That’s the beauty of camping here: you get the feeling of being away without being far away.

A Great Base for Exploring the Leduc Region

If you’re visiting from outside the area, Devon Lions Campground can also be a convenient place to stay while discovering the wider Leduc Region.

The six communities that make up the region each have their own character, attractions and local experiences, from food and drink to outdoor recreation, arts, culture and history.

Stay in Devon and use your campsite as a home base for a regional road trip. Spend a day exploring Devon, head into Leduc or Nisku for food and attractions, discover Beaumont or Calmar, or venture farther south toward Millet and the surrounding countryside.

There’s more to discover than you might expect—and camping gives you a reason to slow down and see it.
