Art in the Leduc Region
The Leduc Arts Foundry

Bringing together local artists since 2017, the Leduc Arts Foundry has moved into their new home in the Leduc Recreation Center! With the help of passionate community-based artisans, the Arts Foundry offers a wide variety of classes and workshops to people of all ages and skill levels. Delivering authentic artistic experiences is their mission, and they do this by putting on annual events like the Leduc Art Walk – a 100% free, family-friendly celebration of local artists and creative activities!

Did you know? The Leduc Arts Foundry host FREE community drop-in sessions on a WEEKLY basis at their space in the Leduc Recreation Centre! Check out their calendar of events to learn when the next one is, and swing by next time you need to express your creative side!

The Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts

The Maclab Centre is a 460-seat theatre residents from all over the Leduc Region are proud of. Hosting a wide variety of events like concerts, ceremonies, and theatrical performances, local artists & organizations like the Leduc Drama Society and Stageworks Productions are proud to call the Maclab home.

Did you know? World-renowned artists like Ron James and the Derina Harvey Band have performed at the Maclab! Due to COVID-19, there are no upcoming events scheduled here at this time, but we’ll keep you posted when performances return via our Events page.

Zyp Art Gallery

Found on the second floor of the beautiful Calmar Medical Clinic, Zyp Art Gallery opened their doors in May of 2018. Since then, they have been making waves in the Leduc Region’s arts community by showcasing the works of local artists in public & online exhibits, and inspiring arts education through events, workshops & programs.

Did you know? The Zyp Art Gallery is named in honor of local philanthropists, Hank & Tillie Zyp! Calmar resident Dr. Nhung Tran-Davies was sponsored by the Zyp family from a refugee camp after the Vietnam war, and built the gallery in honor of the impact the Zyp’s had on her life. Leduc Art Club

Also located in the Leduc Recreation Centre inside the Leduc Arts Foundry new home, the Leduc Art Club provides opportunities for residents and visitors alike to keep art alive in the Leduc Region. By hosting classes, workshops, and art shows, they encourage an appreciation for the visual arts both within their group and the wider community.

Did you know? The Leduc Art Club helped create the beautiful wing mural found on Main Street Leduc! Vice President Breanne Debski was the designer of the mural, and members of the Art Club helped to block in the paint.

Stageworks Academy of the Performing Arts

Stageworks is three different arts-related organizations rolled into one! While Stageworks Dance shares their love of dance through lessons for children & adults, Stageworks Theatre shares their love of the performing arts via theatrical training. The third branch, Stageworks Productions, produces 4 large-scale theatrical productions throughout the year.

Did you know? Stageworks Productions‘ theatrical season starts at the end of October! They are producing the Broadway Musical “All Shook Up” from Oct 20 – 30 at the City Life Auditorium in Leduc. Learn more and purchase tickets HERE.

Gallery 244

Gallery 244 is a private fine art gallery in Leduc County for music lovers! Local artist Chres Jensen uses the guitar as his thematic center, creating beautiful sculptures, paintings, and interactive cubist works that honor music legends like Johnny Cash and John Lee Hooker.

Did you know? Due to COVID-19, Gallery 244 is unfortunately only open by appointment. However, check out their website in the meantime to get an idea of the amazing works of art that you can find here.

Black Gold Gallery & Framing

Found on historic Main Street Leduc, Black Gold Gallery & Framing has been a staple of the arts community since opening in 1993. In addition to offering custom framing solutions, they also display a wide variety of artwork from poster prints to limited edition prints, and the original works of local artists.

East of 60 Productions

East of 60 Productions has been bringing community dinner theatre to the Town of Devon since 2005. This non-profit organization prides itself on producing quality theatrical productions, and enhancing their community by advocating for the performing arts. Live theatre + a prime rib dinner or Sunday brunch? Count us in!

Did you know? In addition to putting on dinner theatre productions, East of 60 also organizes monthly Play Reading sessions open to the public. This is a great opportunity to dip your toes into the acting waters before you get your feet completely wet – click HERE to learn more.

Under the Sun Stained Glass & Glass Art Studio

Under the Sun is a one-of-a-kind glass art studio found in the heart of downtown Leduc! Enriching the creativity of others is their mission, and they do this by fostering a welcoming studio environment and actively engaging patrons to learn new skills. In addition to sharing their passion for glass art, Under the Sun is also a unique specialty shopping destination – they offer a wide variety of beautiful glass art pieces perfect for gift giving or home decoration.
